WSET Level 1 Award in Wines WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This qualification was initilally created for the front-of-house staff within the on-trade sector. It has grown into a course with global appeal, providing basic product knowledge to first time employees in the wine industry and the interested consumers alike.
HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT?
The aim of the course is to give a basic introduction to wine followed by some basic food and wine pairing.
PROGRAMME OUTLINE
- The main styles of wine
- The WSET Level 1 Systematic
- Approach to Tasting Wine
- The characteristics of the common grape varieties used to produce the wine
- Service of wine
- Health, safety and legal issues
- The pairing of food and wine
- To gain the qualification students need to successfully pass a multiple-choice paper of 30 questions
- One full day – 9.30AM – 5.30pm
WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This qualification is popular with wine and spirit employees and will give students excellent all-round product knowledge. The course also suitable for the interested consumer

- 16 hours of lecture time (9.00AM – 1.00PM across four morning, two weeks), 16 hours of private study required
