Paul Failoni heads the Spinneys Abu Dhabi ( Liquor ) business . He has had great successes in his past role as General Manager of The Wine Studio, a specialist wine division under the Mathew Clark Group in the UK with experience in developing the business from logistics, finance and principal management to managing the on trade and retail selling teams across the UK. He has had a proven track record as a Regional Sales Manager in London & the South of England for Mathew Clark, managing a team to sell and activate a broad portfolio of wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
Narendar has solid experience of around 20 years in accounting, finance and administration, He has worked around 16 years at various levels within finance domain in UAE . Narendar’s current role is to ensure preparation of trading, operational, performance and financial data in timely manner and to provide analysis of data to the intended recipients both internal and the external parties. He specialises in Mergers and Acquisitions and has spearheaded several such deals. In addition he also provides accurate financial and non-financial information for corporate, business and strategic decision making.
Vijay Sundar manages the Human Resources , Quality & Training function of our company . He has a dual Masters degree in Science and a Masters in Human Resources. He is certified in Learning & Development, Psychometric Analyst, Trainer & Facilitator, and Compensation and Benefits. On the Quality front, Vijay is a Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 9001: 2008 , British Retail Consortium Standards , HACCP , and Environmental Management System. Vijay also happens to be the creative head for this website.
Ben is On Trade Manager for Spinneys Abu Dhabi. Ben joined Spinneys from MMI in Dubai where he was part of the On Trade Management team and developed a real understanding of the UAE hospitality sector since arriving in the
middle east in 2008.Prior to joining MMI , Ben was with Matthew Clark, a leading UK Wholesaler working in the London and South East region as a Regional Sales Manager working with some of the UK’s leading hospitality establishments.Before Matthew Clark Ben was the “Other side of the bar” working for London based Wine Bar and Restaurant company Balls Brothers of London, where he was a General Manager in the City of London.Ben has completed a Degree in Business Management and a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management and has completed a higher WSET Certification.
Phil heads up the Retail channel of Spinneys. Phil started in the hospitality business 23 years ago first as a chef in the Cotswold’s and in London to manage numerous bars and restaurants. Phil then spent 10 years in the UK drinks market working for Cellar Trends, launching and building spirits brands in London’s cutting edge cocktail bar
scene. Phil then joined UK drinks wholesaler Matthew Clark managing their major accounts.
Kyle manages the Beer Category as well as a team of beer technicians. Kyle started his career in hospitably at the Burj al Arab hotel, later moving back to South Africa to open a number of franchise restaurants. He returned to the UAE to help formulate and activate the now world-leading premium cabin service of Etihad Airways. Kyle began his career at Spinneys 3 years ago as a Key account manager and has now progressed to the forefront of our Beer Category that boasts some of the world’s leading brands.
Mike was the Associate Director of Playford Ros Wine Merchants based in the U.K prior to joining Spinneys. He is now established within the UAE having worked with Spinneys for four years. His area of expertise is Wine & Champagne. Mike has completed his BA honors’ degree in Recreation and Tourism Management as well as the advanced WSET diploma course. Mike enjoys Rugby & Cricket and is the captain of the Spinneys Cricket team. At Spinneys Mike heads the Wine Category and is also an WSET Approved Trainer.
Ramshad is the Information Technology administrator of the company. He Supports the Spinneys Business in ensuring a professional, proactive IT and telecommunications service that achieves its business objectives in the most cost-effective way. Ramshad’s responsibility within the company is in maintaining robust, reliable, efficient and flexible telecommunication and computer-based systems and in carrying out practical, tested contingency plans covering unexpected business interruptions.
